My name is Kevin Lindsay. I grew up in Portland, Oregon where I attended public high school. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1999. In 2000, I began working toward my Master of Science Degree in Physics with a focus in Astrophysics at Clemson University, which I completed in 2003. In 2004 I began work at the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI), a contractor/subsidiary of NASA, and the operations center for the Hubble Space Telescope. I spent 10 years at STScI, which culminated in my final duties as a Senior Research and Instrument Analyst. My time at STScI was spent working on astrophysics research, astronomical data analysis, and space-based instrumentation characterization and calibration. While at STScI, I focused the majority of my efforts as a member of the development team for the Hubble Legacy Archive, as a member of the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph pipeline and calibration team, and as a member of the Operations Detector Laboratory, where I worked on the characterization of spaced-based CCD detectors. I currently work at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, in the William States Lee College of Engineering’s Office of Student Development and Success (OSDS) as a Freshman Lecturer and Advisor, and as the Director of the College of Engineering’s Maximizing Academic and Professional Success (MAPS) Program.
